The Fry Family and the Host Committee are pleased to join with LuMind Research Down Syndrome Foundation in hosting this event in memory of Flynn Thomas Fry.
The Fry Family shares this message:
Flynn was born with Down syndrome. Flynn taught everybody who has ever met, seen or even heard of him about hope, love and an endless amount of joy. Flynn has taught us so much and we realize now more than ever that the love and care of those with Down syndrome is not optional but required. In memory of Flynn, we are devoted to the support of scientific research that will improve the cognitive abilities of all the loved ones with Down syndrome we are still blessed to have in our lives.
In addition to research advocacy, we feel strongly that assisting, locally, persons with Down syndrome through scholarships, inclusion programs, and other financial support would be of great benefit. Therefore, we have started the Tribute 21 Fund, which will benefit equally from this event.
LuMind Research Down Syndrome Foundation is the leading source of private funding for Down syndrome cognition research. To date, we've awarded more than $13.2 million dollars to leading universities investigating ways to improve learning, memory and speech for people with Down syndrome. The research we have funded through your generous donations have led to the identification of multiple drug targets and four clinical trials. Our research also may help avoid the early onset of Alzheimer's disease in people with Down syndrome and may benefit the greater AD community.
